have you come here to play jesus?
i was looking at pulitzer prize photos covering the civil war in liberia and the refugees in war-torn albania, with this song in the background. it was supposed to be a happy online field trip for me before i go back to photography. i ended up grieving. i was thinking if it was the powerful photos that moved me, or the inhumanity that war brings. must be both. in this time and age, why are we still at war?
You act like you never had love,
And you want me to go without?
Well it’s too late. tonight.
To drag the past out into the light.
We’re one, but we’re not the same.
We get to carry each other.
Carry each other.
